Linda A. (Flanery) Gordon, of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, at Riverside Hospital. She was born on August 3, 1952, in Springfield, Ohio, to the late Walter and Eula Flanery. In addition to her parents Linda was preceded in death by her beloved son, Lucas E. Gordon; and in-laws: Elmer and Marian Gordon; Diane (Gordon) Patterson; and Jim Gordon. Linda attended Springfield North and was a member of the Block N. She graduated from Wittenberg University with high honors. She was a member of Alpha Sigma Lambda and was inducted in Eta Sigma Chapter at Wittenberg. Linda had a BA degree in accounting. For most of her adult life she was an executive accountant for major companies. She was proud of her life's accomplishments. She loved spending time with her family and her beloved dogs, Lance and Frankie. Linda's favorite hobby was collecting old books for her libraries. She treasured her time writing a book about her uncle. Linda had an admiration for cars, especially her Mercedes Benz. Larry and Linda spent many hours in their gardens. Her favorite time was spent looking out over their land and taking care of her "house on the hill". She loved the quiet, peaceful sounds there. Her family will hold Linda's memory close to our hearts. Linda is survived by her husband of 54 years, Larry Gordon; sister, Sandy (Mike) Jirec of Milwaukee, WI; sisters in law: Ann (John) Smith of Mechanicsburg and Barbie (Kendall) Pell of St. Paris; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and great neighbors, Kevin and Lori Fowler. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Richards, Raff, and Dunbar Memorial Home, 838 East High Street, Springfield. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00pm. Linda will be laid to rest at Ferncliff cemetery.
