Linda L. Asper

July 31, 1942 — October 12, 2025

New Carlisle

Linda L. Asper, a cherished resident of New Carlisle, passed peacefully from this world on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the age of 83. Born to Obra and Mary Rich on a summer day in Springfield, July 31, 1942, Linda lived a life filled with love, creativity, and an unyielding dedication to her family and passions.

Before embarking on her most fulfilling role as a devoted mother, Linda worked as a telephone operator, a position that perfectly complemented her warm and welcoming nature. Her love for family was only rivaled by her love for the natural beauty she cultivated in her garden and the intricate works of art she created with her hands. As a longstanding member of the Decorative Artist Guild of Southwest Ohio (DAGSO), she not only honed her craft but also shared her zest for life and creativity with others.

In the heart of her home, Linda found joy in sharing meals prepared with love, always adding just a pinch more salt, a signature of her culinary adventures that will be fondly remembered by all who gathered at her table.

Linda was preceded in death by her loving parents and her devoted husband, Edward L. Asper, to whom she was a dedicated partner. She leaves behind her cherished daughters, Jennifer Merritt (Jimmy Gage) and Jolene Schiller (Krist), whose lives are a testament to her love and guidance. She is also survived by her devoted brother-in-law, David Asper (Sally), and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and an extended family who will forever hold her memory close.

The family extends their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from friends and the community. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home.

Linda's legacy is one of love, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to those she cherished. As we gather to celebrate her remarkable life, we find comfort in the beautiful garden she has left behind in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Linda.
