He worked as a banker his entire working life in both Springfield and South Charleston, retiring in 1998. Larry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Susan (Wiseman) Motter, daughters Lynne Treharne and Julie (Barry) Harshbarger, son Daniel (Marsha) Motter, grandchildren, Heather (Taylor) Maute, Eric (Stephanie) Harshbarger, Adam Treharne, Hayley (Sam Bewley) Motter, Reid Treharne , and Samuel (Alexa Manley) Motter, and 6 great-grandsons: Ajay, Gift, and Neo Maute, and Ross, Luke, and Beau Harshbarger. Larry was devoted to his family and set a great parenting example for his children and grandchildren to follow. When he was younger, he enjoyed actively participating in many sports. He was an avid golfer until his arthritis kept him from it, but passed the love of the game on to his son, Daniel. His favorite activities included attending the grandchildren’s sporting events and performances, hand making various arts and craft projects—especially for and with his grandchildren, and traveling with Susan to Florida during the winter and so many other beautiful places, especially visiting family. Starting in high school, Larry performed as a professional trumpet player for some local big bands including The Buddy Young Band. The love and support Larry unconditionally gave to his family always served to inspire each one to do their best. Larry was a member of Risen Christ Lutheran Church in Springfield and also attended Faith Viera Lutheran Church in Viera, Florida.
