Larry Owen Hobson

Larry Owen Hobson, 77, of Old Town, Florida, passed away on August 16, 2026, at Ayers Health and Rehabilitation Center in Trenton, Florida. Born in Lancaster, Ohio, on May 28, 1949, Larry was the son of the late Paul Hobson and Anna (Sowers) Hobson. He spent many years working as a skilled building contractor. In 2009 he moved to Florida with his wife, Sherry. Larry was an avid fan of Ohio State football and found great joy in working with his hands. He was incredibly proud of his woodwork, dedicating his time to refinishing his home in Old Town and showcasing his talent through his construction projects. Larry was preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda. He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Hobson, his sons, Paul and Josh; his daughters, Shannon and Jenny; and a large, cherished legacy of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also, his brother, Gerald “Cleo” Hobson (Nancy). A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 10:30-11:30am at Richards, Raff, and Dunbar Memorial Home, 838 E High Street, Springfield, Ohio. Following visitation family and friends are invited to meet at Ferncliff Cemetery for burial at 12:00pm.
