Larry M. Hanefeld

Larry M. Hanefeld, age 82, of Springfield, Ohio passed away on January 30, 2025 at Springfield Regional Medical Center, after a brief illness. Larry was born in Fort Wayne, IN, on April 22, 1942, to the late Clarence and Ruth Hanefeld.

In his younger years, Larry was an exceptional baseball player and enjoyed boating and water skiing at Coldwater Lake, Michigan, with his son,  daughters, nieces, and family. He proudly served in the United States Army and later retired from International Harvester. During retirement Larry enjoyed bowling, where he obtained several 300 scores. He was an avid Ohio State and NFL Raiders fan.

In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Drummer. He is survived by his children: Dean Davis, of Lakewood, CO, and Katie (Mitchell) Jacobs, of Fort Wayne, IN; 2 nieces: Kelly (Richard) Graham, of Rancho Cucamonga, CA and Kimberly (Michael) Nielsen, of Fort Wayne, IN; stepdaughter, Lori Whipp, of Springfield, Ohio; and many other extended family and friends.

At Larry’s request, no services will be held at this time. Larry will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Burial Park, South Charleston, Ohio.
