KENNETH ALLAN GILCHRIST
August 16, 1960 – May 17, 2026
Kenneth Allan Gilchrist, 65, of New Carlisle, OH, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Marietta, OH, Kenneth was a hard worker and a fix-it master, serving as a trash truck operator in his youth and later as a warehouse manager at a furniture store until his injury. He was a man of faith, attending church when health allowed, and held a deep love for Jesus Christ. Kenneth was known for his infectious laughter, his love of telling jokes, and his unwavering dedication to his family. He’d fix anything broken, make everyone smile with his signature birthday song, and bring all year-round cheer wearing his beloved Santa hat. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Gloria D. Gilchrist, who stood by him with unwavering love and care throughout his life; his loving mother, Wanda Offenberger; step father, Patrick Offenberger; his sister, Jennifer Murphy (Terry); his children, Michael (Stacy) Hannahs, Ronald Gilchrist, Jessica (Mike) Trick, and Jenna (Mark) Gilchrist-Schroeder; his grandchildren, Lance Hannahs, Payton Hannahs, Emma Gilchrist, Darryl Hixon, Aubree Schroeder, Isla Schroeder, Noah Schroeder; his niece Alisa Hester (Brian), and nephew Kevin Murphy (Stephanie); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Irwin Gilchrist.
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
Psalm 23:1-6
He will be cremated
