Julie Ann Freels, 63, of Riverside, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025. She was born February 12, 1961, in Dayton, the daughter of the late Criss J. and Irene Edwards. Julie enjoyed riding a Harley, playing the casino slots, doing up her hair and nails, and soaking up the Florida sun with a plate of fried shrimp in tow. She was a top saleswoman throughout her career. Julie was deeply devoted to her family and friends. The support she gave and received was central to her character. She will be sorely missed as a sister, aunt, great-aunt, niece, and friend. She is survived by her siblings Teresa (Ty) Pyles and Criss (Kristina) Edwards II; former husband Robert Freels; nieces Brooke (James) Samuels, Kairee (Jonathan) Cedermaz, Whitney (Ryan) Pyles-Dodds, and Katja Edwards; nephew Criss J. Edwards III; great-nieces and nephews Irie, Owen, Eden, Isla, Maya, Arthur, Micah, and Willow. Julie is preceded in death by her parents and great-nephew Oliver. The family invites you to a visitation on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 from 10-11 am at the West Charleston Church of the Brethren followed by a service at 11 am, a meal, and a 2 pm graveside service at Dayton Memorial Park. Arrangements have been entrusted to Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
