Joyce Joann Curry

Joyce Joann Curry, 90 of New Carlisle, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2026, and was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin. She lived a long and purposeful life devoted to education and her family. She was raised in Oak Hill, Ohio, and went on to earn her degree in education from Rio Grande College and went on to teach third grade for over 35 years.

Joyce shared 72 wonderful years with her husband Marvin Curry. Their long and devoted marriage was a testament to their love and commitment to one another.

Joyce dedicated her entire career to teaching, serving as a third-grade teacher at Westlake Elementary in New Carlisle, Ohio. She had a special gift for working with children and took pride in helping young students learn and grow. She was a natural teacher and touched the lives of countless students throughout the years.

Outside the classroom, Joyce enjoyed gardening and had compassion for animals. She enjoyed working in her yard, volunteering at church, traveling, and spending time with her family. Joyce will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and dedicated teacher. She helped shape the many people who were fortunate enough to know her. She was also known for always having home-baked cookies available at any time.

Joyce is remembered by her son Kimball Curry (Ann), daughter Kristin Frounfelker (Frank), and grandchildren Zachary and Nicole Curry.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 12:30 to 1:30, with the service to honor Joyce’s life to follow at 1:30 pm at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home, with burial to follow at New Carlisle Cemetery.
