John J. Tarjan, age 80, of New Carlisle passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at his residence with his devoted daughter by his side. John was born the son of Ladislaus “Les” & Mary (Zakota) Tarjan on September 19, 1944, in Dayton, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents; mother to his children Mary Lee; wife Marlene; soulmate and true love Martha “Marty” Carver; dear friend Gene Beach; daughter Tammie Williams; grandson Scott Williams. John is survived by his beloved daughter Tena Kimaiyo of New Carlisle; son John Tarjan of New Mexico; brother Ernie (Jeanie) Tarjan; sisters Jane Wheeler, Mary Walker & Angie Watson; grandchildren Zach, Jamelia, Jon & Dustin; Joyce (Tim) Brooks, Phil (Becca) Beach, Debbie Miller; several nieces, nephews & a host of friends. John was a devoted father, loving grandfather, brother & friend. He will be missed by all of those who love him. During Johns longtime career at Duriron he made many lifelong friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching World War II documentaries & westerns, especially if they featured John Wayne. He enjoyed spending quality time with his grandsons’ by fishing, even if the fish were not biting. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Dayton for the exceptional care they received during this difficult time, especially to Laesi, Jamie, Nickki, Deanna, Felicity & Chaplain John Eshelman. Friends & family may call on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 10AM -12PM at TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME 507 W. Jefferson St. New Carlisle, Ohio. Immediately following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at Valley View Memorial Gardens with Chaplain John Eshelman officiating.
