John William Ohsner

April 16, 1939 — October 6, 2019

John William Ohsner, 80, of New Carlisle, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019 at his daughter's residence in Corydon, IN. He was born April 16, 1939, in Jamestown, OH, the son of the late Charles Ohsner and Mildred Gill. John retired from General Motors. He loved driving heavy equipment and loved to tinker with his tractor. John is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Aleta Short; and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children DeWayne (Theresa) Ohsner and Vannetta (Edward) Fox; brother George Ohsner; sisters Elizabeth Combs and Mildred Dawson; grandchildren Chad (Kelly) Short, Tiffany (Timothy) Lewis, Kyle (Kathryn) Fox, Cody (Makayla) Ohsner and Kendra (Tyler) Davenport; great-grandchildren Kaiden, Baylee, Tripp, Braelyn, Keira and Oakleigh; several nieces, nephews and caring neighbors. Visitation will be Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 10-11am in Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home with a funeral service to honor John beginning at 11:00am. Burial will follow in New Carlisle Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.trostelchapman.com.
