John Frederick Mabry

Mabry, John Frederick, 72 of Springfield passed away January 2, 2019 in the Miami Valley Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Urbana, Ohio on November 21, 1946, the son of Frederick Francis and H. Louise Mabry. He was a 1968 graduate of North High School. John was an avid softball player and pitcher, who as enjoyed playing the game for over 50 years. John retired from Honeywell with 35 years of service. He was a lifelong member of Hillside Ave Church of God, where he served faithfully as a trustee, greeter and usher. In his spare time John was a model train hobbyist. John was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Dorothy L. Mabry, whom he married May 24, 1968; children Jon Mabry and Stephen (Mary) Mabry; brother Ron (Linda) Mabry; grandchildren Brian (Christina) Mabry, Christina (Chris) Baughman and Amber Gnau; great grandchildren Jacob. Mikaela, Colton and Ivy; nieces Jennifer (Jeff) Howie and Sarah (David) Garcia and families. A memorial service to honor John will be Monday at 6:00PM in the Hillside Ave Church of God. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 4:00PM in the church. Memorial contributions are requested to the Hillside Ave Church of God.
