John E. Burt, Jr.

Burt, Jr., John E., 71 of Springfield passed away September 13, 2017 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on September 5, 1946, the son of John E. and Dorothy E. Burt, Sr. He was a graduate of Clark State. John proudly served his country in the US Air Force as a munition specialist. He retired with 30 years of service from Holophane as a plant engineer. He was a member of VFW 3660 and loved motorcycles. John was preceded in death by his father; son Christopher Allen Burt and sister Grace Awilda. Survivors include his mother Dorothy; siblings Harold S. Burt and Patricia A. (Steven) Hazlett; several nieces and nephews; many friends at VFW 3660 and the 7236 Air Force Squadron. Services to honor John will be Monday at 1:00PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME with Pastor Mark Martin of Maiden Lane Church of God officiating. Family and friends may call from 11:00AM until time of services. Burial to follow in Vale Cemetery.
