Joan Haynes Cost

Joan Haynes Cost, 97, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026. She was born March 28, 1928, in Canal Winchester, OH, the daughter of the late Mascal and Juanita Haynes. Joan worked in retail at both Wrens Department Store and Jaccards Jewelry Store. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband Melvin E. Cost. Joan is survived by her children Denise (Jim) Shatto and Steven (Julie) Dean; siblings Terry Haynes and Beatrice Wetherell; grandchildren Mickaela (Robert) LeBoeuf and Nickole Dean; numerous extended family and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, January 30, 2026, from 12-1pm with the funeral to honor Joan beginning at 1:00pm at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home.
