Jo Anne Young

Jo Anne Young, age 94 of South Charleston, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Brookdale Buck Creek. She was born the daughter of Orin & Margaret (Parker) Slagle on September 5, 1931, in Clark County, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband John Young; son John W. “Bill” Young Jr.; 6 sisters & 1 brother. Jo is survived by her 2 daughters Brenda (Dale) Cox of South Charleston & Deb (Darrell) Dinnen of Springfield; sister Ruth Slagle; grandchildren Jason (Lisa) Cox, Justin (Staci) Cox, Bart (Kristen) Young, Emily (Tyler) Ayres & Hanna Dinnen; 5 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews & a host of friends. Jo was a longtime & faithful member of the South Charleston United Methodist Church. She retired after many years of faithful service as treasurer of Southeastern Local School District. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting & reading her Bible. Most of all she enjoyed spending quality time with her family. Inurnment at the convenience of the family Greenlawn Cemetery, South Charleston. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to South Charleston United Methodist Church.
