Jerry Gilbert

Jerry Gilbert, age 76, of Springfield, Ohio passed away on May 9, 2025. He was born on January 12, 1949, in Hazard, Kentucky, to the late Tommie and Cappie Gilbert. In addition to his parents Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Gilbert; brothers: Cage and Steve Gilbert; sisters: Loretta Brooks, Aletha Fugate, and Mary Barber; and nephew, Ralph Gilbert.

Jerry is survived by his daughter Karen Gilbert (Chris Taylor); grandson, Joshua Wilson (Kearstian Mollett); great grandchildren: Braeleigh Wilson and Aubreigh Wilson; brother, Kenneth (Barb) Gilbert; sisters in law, Judy Paul and Connie Arnold; nieces and nephews: Tommy, Jeff, Debbie, Billy, Richie (Cindy), Carl, Jeannette, Jennifer, Shane, Duck, Cathy, Leslie, Ricky, Shannon, Jeremy (Inga), and Shante; great nieces and nephews: Kayla, Stevie, Jaidyn, McKinley, Jazlyn, Ireland, and Silas; as well as many other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Jerry proudly served his country for many years in the United States Army. He was also a member of VFW 8437 Enon and First Pentecostal Church of Enon, and spent many years working for Cole Brothers and Conway Railroads, before finishing his career with Honda. Jerry loved fishing, rocking on his front porch while humming and whistling, and working on classic cars. But more than anything, Jerry loved to spend time with his family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Richards, Raff, and Dunbar Memorial Home, 838 E. High Street, Springfield. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00pm officiated by Pastor Gordon Scott. Jerry will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Enon Cemetery.
