Jason M. Hurst

Jason M. Hurst, age 50, of Springfield, Oh, died Saturday, November 18, 2017 surrounded by his family and friends. He was born December 2, 1966. A graduate of South High School and Cumberland College, Kentucky, he received his bachelor’s degree in music education. Jason was a very gifted musician. His passion was music and music was his voice. Jason was a bright beaming light that never truly knew how he energized the lives of everyone he touched. He is preceded in death by his father, John Hurst and his sister, Dianna Rae Hurst. He is survived by his mother, Joyce Hurst, a brother Mitch (Jill) Hurst, a sister Teresa Deskins, a niece, Heather (Michael) Barnwell and nephews, Zachary and Peter Hurst and a great nephew, Paul Barnwell. Jason also had an extremely large extended family; Paul Bush (who was like a father) and his family, several dear friends and members of numerous bands, and Sharon Bowling (former wife). There will be a celebration of Jason’s life on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 at 1:00pm ~ 3:00pm at the VFW Hall, 1237 E. Main St., Springfield OH 45503. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made be made in Jason’s name, to the Springfield Regional Cancer Center C/O Community Mercy Foundation, 100 W. McCreight Ave, Suite 200, Springfield, Oh 45504
