Jane Ellen Frey died March 24, 2026, at the Okeechobee Health Care Facility in Okeechobee, Fla. She was 97. Jane was born Oct. 14, 1928, in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Harry Willard Marble, a draftsman, and Doris Jean (Keesbury) Marble, a homemaker. She grew up in Springfield and was a 1946 graduate of Springfield High School. During her last years at school, she worked in the baby department of Wren's department store, which she always called her favorite job. Later, she was employed by the Crist-Kissell appliance store as a secretary. She spent most of her working years at the Ohio Edison Co., rising to become a senior substation clerk before retiring in 1989. She married Arthur Clark Dalglish in 1949, and they remained wed until his death in 1989. She married Raymond Richard Frey in 1990, and they remained wed until his death in 2014. Jane enjoyed traveling with both of her husbands, especially RV trips with Raymond Frey to South Texas and Florida. She and Ray moved to Okeechobee, Fla., in 2000 and were residents of the Ancient Oaks and Seminole Cove mobile home communities. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Okeechobee and sang in the choir for many years. Her hobbies included collecting owl figurines and U.S. postage stamps. She was a lover of dachshunds and owned several over the years -- Tina, Greta and Missy. Jane moved to the Grand Oaks assisted living facility in 2022, where she lived until relocating to the Health Care Facility in 2024. Survivors include one son, Arthur Ray Dalglish (Lorraine Johnson) of Boulder, Colo., and a stepdaughter, Mari Lyn Brewer (Ted) of Noblesville, Ind. She left two grandchildren, Sarah Dalglish of Ferney-Voltaire, France, and Evan Dalglish of Albuquerque, N.M.; two step-grandchildren, Alison Rydel of Springfield, Ohio, and Abby Moorman of Noblesville, Ind.; five great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren. A sister, Jeanne Hoppes (Kenneth), preceded her in death. She will be laid to rest alongside Ray Frey at Rose Hill Burial Park, 4781 South Charleston Rd., in Springfield on Friday, April 3, 2026 10AM
