James A. Murphy

age 68 of New Carlisle, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Soin Medical Center, Beavercreek, Ohio. He was born March 31, 1951 in Virginia to Earl and Margaret (Hardin) Murphy. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Paulette (Messer) Murphy, two sons Paul (Amie) Murphy and Johnathan (Kathryn) Murphy, and three beautiful grandchildren Isabella, Liam and Maeve Murphy whom he adored; as well as his brother Richard and many nieces and nephews. James is preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers Earl and Vernald, and sisters Erla Spears and Patricia Smith. James was a valued member of his community and leaves behind many treasured friendships. In lieu of gifts or flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in his name to Vietnam Veterans of America, as he took tremendous pride of his time in the Army.
