James R. Lyons

Lyons, James R., 78 of Springfield passed away November 29, 2017. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on October 31, 1939, the son of Frank and Lucille Lyons. He proudly served his country in the US Army mostly during the Vietnam War retiring after 25 years as a Sergeant. Following his retirement he worked in both the construction field and as a truck driver. In his spare time he was a member of Eagles Aeries #397 and enjoyed woodworking. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife Patsy; brother Kenneth and his cat Gigi. Survivors include his children James R. Lyons, Jr., Kimberly Lyons, Jennifer (Danny) Brooks and Wendy (Robert) Wiseman; sister Sandy (Ron) Cost; grandchildren Kira, Kristin, Megan, Amanda, Josie, Daniel (Kourtney), Dustin (Jennifer), Von, Storm,Latisha, Kelsey, Kade and Ashanti; 26 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
