James A. Jones
84 of New Carlisle passed away on March 15, 2021 at home, moving on to his heavenly home. Jim was born April 2, 1936 in Hazard, Kentucky on Lost Creek. The son of John and Bertha (Campbell) Jones. He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, three sisters, and daughter in laws Mickey and Cindy Jones. He leaves behind his loving wife of 64 years, Becky Jones; sons Jeff, Tim, Tom, and James Jr. (Cathy); daughters Janice (Walter) Sandy, Jennifer (Tommy) Lewis; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great – grandchildren; sister Bessie Bargo; sister in laws Judy Slusher, Pearl Jones, and Shirley (Jimmy) Puckett; many nieces and nephews. Jim worked construction most of his life in the Dayton and surrounding areas. He loved Kentucky Wildcat Basketball, enjoyed Bluegrass music, and playing his harmonica. Jim helped anyone with whatever job or project they were working on and he was happy to do it. He was also an Honorary Kentucky Colonel. Friends may call on Monday, March 22, 2021 from 5PM – 7PM at TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 507 W. Jefferson St. New Carlisle, Ohio 45344 where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 10AM with Tommy Lewis officiating. Interment to follow in the Medway Cemetery.
