Jack D. Duty, Sr.

Jack D. Duty, Sr., 80, of New Carlisle, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. He was born February 2, 1937 in Dickenson County, Virginia, the son of the late Lemuel Edward and Sarah Duty. Jack was a true jack of all trades, working with heavy equipment and later starting the family auto repair garage. He was a member of International Faith Church of Fairborn. Jack is preceded in death by his sons Billy Joe Duty and Gregory Allen Duty; brothers Ernest and Larry Duty; and sister Thelma Cornett. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Doris; sons Jack D. (Pam) Duty, Jr. and Doug (Lisa) Duty; daughter Kim (Paul) Duty Richards; brother Duke Duty; sister Sandra Jean Mitchum; grandchildren Serenity Warkentine, Julie Duty, Olivia Duty, Josh Duty, Sarah Duty, Jake Duty, Brandon Taylor, Angela Hanes and Travis Richards; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service to honor Jack will be Friday at 1:30 PM in Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 11:30 AM.
