Williams, Homer "Jim" Hudson passed away September 8, 2017 at the age of 103 in the Friends Care Center, Yellow Springs, were he was their oldest resident. Homer was born March 14, 1914 in Yellow Springs, the son of Pearl and Lizzie (Funk) Williams. Homer served in the US Navy in the South Pacific on a L.S.T. He retired as a mechanic from White Motors in Springfield. Homer was well known for his keen sense of humor. When asked how he felt having reached the age of 103, Homer would reply that he didn’t feel a day over 100. He had a love of open wheel racing and enjoyed his family and their many visits to spend time with him at Friends. Homer was preceded in death by his wife; Vernous in 1996; son Richard; grandson Brian Hale; four brothers; two sisters; and special friend Genny Beery. Survived by his children Bea (Jim) Allen, Larry (Toney) Williams, Curtis (Debi Segrest-Adams) Williams, Charlene Livers; grandchildren Kim, Jamie, Jerrad, Jason, Mandee and Aaron; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren and many other family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Services to honor Homer will be Wednesday at 10:00AM in the Memorial Home. Burial to follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions are requested to the Springfield Township Paramedics. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.richardsraffanddunbar.com.
