Herbert "Tim" M. Carnes

Herbert Michael Carnes known to most as “Tim” went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ before sunrise on May 31st 2025, in his home surrounded by family. He was born at home in DeGraff, Ohio on July 16, 1940. Tim was preceded in death by his precious Grandmother Nora Perry, his parents Michael and Alma Carnes, his beautiful sister Sharon Kissling, a baby brother Russel Carnes and several life long friends and family members who he cherished throughout life. Tim was survived by his wife of 57 years who he deeply loved, Carol Carnes, his Son Michael (Lisa) Carnes, his Daughter (John) Darla Saunders, sister Joann Lennon and brother Richard Carnes, 5 grandchildren Jessica Carnes, Kristina (Joey) Everidge, Lindsay (Brandon) Alden, Matthew Carnes and Benjamin Saunders. He had 8 rambunctious great grandchildren who he loved to see come visit, so he could share his candy. Jordan, Lucas, Ella, Lexi, Logan, Rylan, Lyric and Teagan. Tim proudly served his country in the Army’s 82nd Airborne when he was a young man. He worked 30+ years and retired from Navistar in 1997. He will be sorely missed here on earth, however his family holds tightly to the promise of Heaven and being reunited with him some sweet day in Glory. 

John: 14: 2-3   "2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Richards, Raff, and Dunbar Memorial Home, 838 East High Street, Springfield, Ohio. Funeral services will take place on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 10:00am. Entombment with Military Honors will immediately follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
