HENRY C. "HANK" APEL

86, of Medway, Ohio passed away Saturday September 23, 2017. He was born June 7, 1931 in Springfield the son of the late Bert & Eva Mae (Taynor) Apel. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired carpenter from St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Dayton. He was a member of the Medway United Methodist Church and the New Carlisle Senior Citizens Center. He also volunteered at Mercy & Community Hospitals and worked at Snyder Park Golf Course, Springfield. He enjoyed golf, loved life, his family & friends, and will truly be missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Ann Apel; a son, Terry and his deceased wife, Toni Apel; grandchildren, Jason Morrow & Vaughn Apel; great grandchildren; Zara Wright, Logan Apel; a sister, Rosie Moore; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four sisters, Helen Apel, Anna Gray, Betty Jones & Norma Edwards. A gathering will be 12-2 PM Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the Club House at Forest Glen, 2150 Montego Dr., Springfield. Graveside services will be at 4 PM Saturday at Medway Cemetery with military honors. Arrangements by the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio.
