Helen E. Castello

Helen E. Castello, 73, of Springfield unexpectedly passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016 in her home. She was born October 27, 1942 in Barnesville, OH the daughter of Robert and Emilyn (Morton) Pierce. Helen retired from the Mueller Residential Center with thirty years of service and was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church. Helen enjoyed sewing and quilting, and then gifting the quilts to family and friends. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law Deborah and George Steele, Janet and Bob Shirey, Beth and Tony Gonzalez; one son Albert E. Castello II, all of Springfield; a sister Violet (Bob) McGee and a brother Forrest (Janet) Pierce, both of Frazeysburg, OH; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Albert E. Castello; two brothers Bobby and Jack Pierce; a sister Irene Pierce; and a grandson Steven Ray Gonzalez. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. The service to honor Helen’s life will be Tuesday at 1:30 PM. in the Memorial Home with Rev. Dale Stumbo officiating. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s name to the American Heart Fund.
