Gilbert Russell "Snapper" Woodruff

Gilbert Russell Woodruff, Aka Snapper, 74, of Springfield Ohio passed away June 24, 2020. Russell was born Jan, 5 1946 in Jackson County, OH, the son of Elijah Wilson and Helen Maude (Boyer) Woodruff. Russell was a kind wonderful person who didn’t know a stranger. He helped anyone with anything he could. He loved fishing, camping with family and friends, and hunting. He is survived by his sister Gloria Woods of Chillicothe; brother David Woodruff of Chillicothe; niece Shirley Howard with whom he lived; nieces Sarah (Paul) Day and Susie (Rodney) Loeffler of Springfield; nephew Sherman Markley of Chillicothe; many other family members too numerous to name. He was preceded in death by his Parents; sisters Evelyn, Anna, Gladys, and Ruth; brothers Estle, William, Wendall, Robert, James Roy, and Vernon. There will be a graveside service Tues June 30 at 2:30pm at Ferncliff Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home.
