Gerald D. Crabtree

Gerald D. Crabtree age 72 of Springfield passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021 at Hospice of Dayton. Gerald was born the son of Forest & Thelma (Galbraith) Crabtree on March 23, 1948 in Springfield, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Glenn, Holland, Donald, & Charles Crabtree; sisters Marguerite Schindler, Imogene Zappe, Analee Vance, & Emmajanice Lawhorn. Gerald is survived by his loving wife Frances; brother William H. Crabtree of Michigan; sisters Elizabeth Crabtree – Timmons of Hamilton, & Linda Crabtree – Parker of Florida; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends. Gerald was a loving husband, brother, uncle, & Friend. He will be missed by all of those who love him. Gerald was a proud member of The United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged from the military he worked for several retail companies around the Miami Valley. He was a member of the American Legion and was a founding member of the Matthew 25 Food Ministry. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening & setting up booths at local flea markets. More than anything he enjoyed spending quality time with his family. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Dayton for the compassionate care they received.
