Fredrick Norman "Norm" Silliman

March 25, 1928 — January 13, 2021

SILLIMAN, Fredrick Norman "Norm" 92, passed peacefully on January 13, 2020. Loving husband, father, and patriot. Norm and Patricia, his wife, danced everyone’s heart away during their marriage of 72 years. Norm was caregiver to Patricia many years until he needed a little assistance. He enjoyed traveling to see all his family at home and in the United Kingdom and conducted Camp Silliman for the grand fishermen. One of the grand fishermen was quoted, "Grandpa is the best fisherman in the world, he just doesn’t catch a lot of fish." Patricia and Norm spent many beautiful years with family, neighbors and friends watching the sunset over Lemon Bay at their cottage in Englewood, Fl. He was competitive on the golf links, 2002 Springfield Country Club Men’s Golf Champion, Third Flight and always ready to recapture the lead in his Gin Rummy competition with Patricia. Norm enjoyed family reunions, the annual family vacation and the competition of family board games. He could not wait until Ohio’s sweetcorn was in season and root on the Buckeyes. Recognized Steel Salesman for Hines Industries, Youngstown, Ohio for 35 plus years as regional sales manager for southern Ohio, Indiana, and northern Kentucky. Born in and former resident of Warren, Ohio, graduate of Warren G Harding HS (1947). Survived by sons and daughter: David, William (Dianne), Mark (Danna), Richard (Linn) and Rebecca (Jeffrey) Scheeler; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Sister Joanne (Dr. Richard) Corradi and sister-in-law Judy Silliman. Many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by wife, Patricia Ann Silliman, brother Russell Silliman, brother-in-law William (Evelyn) Dennis, sister-in-law Evelyn (William) Dennis and daughter-in-law Susan Silliman. Senior warden, usher and member of Christ Episcopal Church, Springfield. Ohio and Englewood, Fl. Former member: Enon Lions Club, Springfield and Green County Country Clubs. There will be a Celebration of Life in the summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Norm Silliman to Christ Episcopal Church, 409 E. High Street, Springfield, Oh 45505, orMad River Township/Enon Fire and EMS Department, PO Box 395, Enon, Ohio 45323. Arrangements have been entrusted to RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME.
