Frederick Michael Botkin

Fredrick Michael “Mike” Botkin of Springfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home January 4, 2025. He was born May 3, 1955, in Springfield, Ohio, to the late Albert and Betty (Wallace) Botkin. Mike was a graduate of Shawnee High School. He served in the US Army from 1974 to 1976. He married the love of his life Dianne May 7, 2005. Mike worked for Cascade Corporation for many years and finished his career with Navistar of Springfield.

Mike cherished spending time with family and watching his grandkids play sports. He enjoyed camping and riding motorcycles. He was an avid supporter and volunteer of the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program as well as the annual Highway Hikers motorcycle toy run. He also treasured his two dogs Sissy and Charlie.

In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by brothers John and Dean Botkin; brothers-in-law Bill Wiriam and Randy Hall; sisters, Paula (Botkin) Hall, Barb (Botkin) Wiriam; nephew Dean Botkin Jr. He is survived by his wife, Dianne (Heath) Botkin; children: Rachele (Jason) Barlow, Traci (Mike) McFann, Mark (Jenni) Patterson II, and Melinda (Kevin) Dooley; grandkids: Nicci (Matt) Clarkson, Logan (Hunter) Barclay, Brody McFann, Olivia, Lacie, Harmony Barlow, Katie and Elizabeth Patterson; great grandchildren: Deacon and Garrett Clarkson, Payton and Hannah Barclay, siblings: sister-in-law, Gay Botkin, Chuck (Mary Lou) Botkin, Ed (Sharon) Botkin, Herb (Debi) Botkin, brothers-in-law Ed and Kenneth Heath, and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Oscar Mike Foundation or a non-profit charity that provides financial support to injured Veterans looking for an opportunity to stay active. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Richards, Raff, and Dunbar Memorial Home.
