Fred Virgil Mundy

Fred Virgil Mundy was born June 28, 1947, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Fred died at his home on December 22, 2025, after a brief illness. Fred lived in Springfield most of his life. He served his country for two years in the United States Army and spent time in Southeast Asia during his tour of service. He was honorably discharged and returned to Springfield where he spent the rest of his life. He had a love for music all his life and it showed he collected new songs as they were released. Fred’s career spanned several jobs, but his greatest time was put in the salvage business and anyone who knew him knew he was a hard worker, retiring only five years ago. Fred was preceded in death by his parents Fred & Mary Mundy and by two sisters Mary Lenore Frost and Barbara Gale Denson along with a loving friend Tammy Music. Survivors include one daughter Kamy Westfall, his brother Don Mundy of Bethel, Ohio Pam Gutierrez of Springfield and several nieces & nephews totaling 11 altogether. A special shout out also goes to Billy Bame Fred’s best friend. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026 at 12:00PM at RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME 838 E. High Street Springfield, Ohio.
