Edwin “Ed” Stewart Fenner, age 81, passed away unexpectedly on May 13, 2026. He was born in Jamestown, Ohio on September 29, 1944, to the late Edwin and Lela Fenner. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary J. Fenner; siblings: Mike, Rick, and Pam; sister-in-law, Grace; and brothers-in-law, Gene and Larry.
Ed is survived by his children: Julie (Tony), Shelly, and Brian (Tammy); grandchildren: Elicia, Kevin, Michael, Myles, Larry, Adam, Megan, Kylie, Jessica, and Jacob; 16 great grandchildren; siblings: Doug (Neci), Linda (Frank), Vickie (Dan), and Bonnie (Denny); brother-in-law, Dave; many nieces, nephews, and extended family, as well as countless lifelong friends.
Ed was a dedicated and hardworking employee of Navistar International for nearly 44 years before retiring. He enjoyed traveling and camping trips and had a love for volleyball and softball. Ed was a lifelong avid fan of The Cleveland Browns. He was also a member of the Senior Center where he enjoyed spending time playing Euchre and Pickleball. His greatest love was his family; his grandkids and great grandkids were his pride and joy. Ed had heart like no other, he touched the lives of many, both family and friends alike. He will be missed by all those who were blessed to know him.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Richards, Raff, and Dunbar Memorial Home, 838 E. High Street, Springfield.
