Edna E. Gilpin

Edna E. Gilpin age 94 of Springfield went home to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, October 9, 2023.  She was born the daughter of Millard & Pattie (Collingsworth) Brooks on July 31, 1929, in Tazwell, Tennessee.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Ira Gilpin; sisters Patricia Brooks & Mildred Ruth; brother Kenny Brooks.  She is survived by her loving children Dwight (Wendy) Gilpin of Springfield, & Diane (Howard) Applin of Springfield; brother Rev. Clayton Brooks; sisters Billie Jean Monroe, & Donna Reynolds; grandchildren Jason (Jodie) Engle, Aaron (Theresa) Engle, & Garrett (Abby) Gilpin; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, & a host of friends.  Edna was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, & friend.  She will be missed by all of those who love her.  Edna was a faithful Christian & was a long-time member of Harmony Missionary Baptist church.  Edna enjoyed being a caregiver to her family & over the years she lovingly provided foster care for 40 children.  She enjoyed spending the holidays with her family & worked hard to make them special for her children especially Christmas & Easter.  A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.  Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.richardsraffanddunbar.com
