Edie Daves, a beloved resident of Springfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at the age of 84. Born and raised in Springfield, Edie spent her life enriching the lives of those around her with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith. Edie was a devoted and faithful follower of her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, and a longtime member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church. Her faith was central to her life, guiding her through times of joy and sorrow. Her dedication extended beyond her personal spiritual journey as she actively participated in church activities and community service. Edie found joy in the simplest pleasures. She delighted in shopping trips to Walmart, leisurely drives to the reservoir to feed the ducks, and cherished her annual fall excursions to Pigeon Forge. Above all, Edie treasured the time spent with her family, who were the cornerstone of her life. She is lovingly survived by her son, Donnie Daves; her brother, Richard "Dickie" (Donna) Miller; her bonus daughter, Deb Bruce; her grandchildren Amanda (Shawn Terhune) Bruce, and Kris Bruce; and her great-grandchildren, Lyrick Fisher, Ember and Shawn Terhune; along with numerous nieces, nephews & extended family. Edie was preceded in death by her parents, George L. and Carrie Miller; her beloved spouse, Donald Daves; her brother, Otis G. Miller; her sisters, Bertha Wilmeth, Mabel Orr, and Alice Miller; and her granddaughter, Whitney Fisher. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Edie's life at a visitation on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home, Springfield, Ohio. This will be followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm with Pastor Orbie Estep officiating. Interment to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
