Dwayne H. Emmons, a beloved member of the Springfield community, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, at the age of 65. A lifelong resident of Springfield, Dwayne was born on October 4, 1960, to a close-knit family that cherished life in this vibrant Ohio town. Dwayne spent his career working at Heroux-Devtek in Springfield, where he was known as a skilled and dedicated deburrer. His attention to detail and strong work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. Outside of work, Dwayne was well-known throughout Springfield for driving Docs little red van while delivering for Docs Drive Thru, a sight many expected and appreciated. Beyond his professional achievements, Dwayne was a man of numerous passions and interests. He was a former member of the Moose, where he formed enduring friendships and contributed to community activities. Dwayne was also an avid fan of Ohio sports, passionately supporting the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Reds, never missing the chance to cheer them on. Dwayne leaves behind his beloved daughter, Mandy (Jerod Conkel) Emmons of Springfield, OH, who was the light of his life and with whom he shared countless cherished memories. Along with his daughter, he is survived by his grandson Cody Gamble; his siblings Debra Ray, Fred (Kim) Emmons, Mamie Emmons & Paul (Teresa) Emmons; 2 nieces Brandi (William) Ray & Heather (Brian) Shelton; best friend Al Horny. He will be remembered as a loving father, a steadfast friend, and a gracious member of his community. For all who knew Dwayne, his passing leaves a void, but his legacy of kindness, dedication, and community spirit will continue to shine within Springfield and beyond. He will be dearly missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love and laughter that he perpetually shared with others. Friends & family may call on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 5PM -7PM at RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME 838 E. High St. Springfield, Ohio where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 10AM. Interment to follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. The family requests that you wear your favorite team apparel to the service.
