Doris "Vern" "Granny" Mullins

Mullins, Doris “Vern”” Granny” L., 67 of Springfield passed away August 23,2022 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center.  She was born in Columbus, Ohio on June 6, 1955, the daughter of Marvin Rife and Doris Laverne Woodruff.  She retired as the manager of the Soapbox on Limestone St.  Family was very important in her life, especially the grandkids.  Her door to the house was never shut and when she prepared a meal it was for the entire city.  Doris was quite a jokester and enjoyed dancing and listening to music.  She never knew a stranger and could find the good in everybody.  But if you asked the family, dogs were her number 1 priority.  Doris was preceded in death by her parents; companion Earl Street; daughter Billy Jo Mullins-Booth; sister Martha Eick; and her fur buddies Sandy and Diggums.  Survivors include her children Bobby Jo Miller, Hiram “Bubby” (Angie) Mullins, Amber Hickman, Earl Street, Jr., and Jessica Hess; brother Wally (Kathy) Mason; sister Tammy (Chuck) Duhl; grandchildren Dustin (Lori) Mullins, Codie Miller, Courtney Mullins, Michael Miller, John (Brianna) Booth, Gabriel Mullins, Oliva Mullins, and her many “Adoptive” family members; eleven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  A memorial service to honor Doris will be Friday, September 2, 2022, at 1:00PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME.  A gathering of family and friends will begin at Noon.  Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.richardsraffanddunbar.com .
