DONALD WADE MENSI, "Donny"

56, of New Carlisle, Ohio, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017.He was born January 25, 1961, at Chanute AFB, Illinois, the son of Noah & Shirley (Alig) Mensi.He is survived by his mother, Shirley Mensi; two sisters, Deborah Mensi andJanice Clark of New Carlisle, brother-in-law, Curtis Clark and two nephews, Coleman and Adam Clark; other much-loved relatives and friends.He is preceded in death by his father, Noah Mensi. Donny served 20 years in the United States Air Force working as a crew chief and mechanic on F-15, F-111 and other Air Force aircraft. He served numerous tours in the U.S. and overseas, including; South Korea and Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm in 1991. He received multiple medals including expert marksmanship, liberation medal, and good conduct medal. After retiring from the Air Force in 1999, Donny returned to his family in New Carlisle and worked at Garner Brothers and then Industrial Grinding, Inc. in Dayton until his illness in March of this year. A memorial gathering of family and friends in Donny’s honor will take placeMonday, October 2, 2017,at 5 p.m. with a memorial service at6 PMat the First Baptist Church of New Carlisle at 8870 State Route 571, New Carlisle, OH. His final resting place will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery, AL next to his father.
