Donald J. "Donnie" Herring

Donald Jeffery Herring, age 53, passed away unexpectedly on June 2, 2025. He was born on December 21, 1971, in Springfield, Ohio, to Lucille Mooney and Donald E. Herring. Donnie is preceded in death by his father, Donald; stepfather, Sonny Mooney; and uncle, Gaylord Noble.

Donnie is survived by his daughter, Nevaeh Herring, mother, Lucille (Becky) Mooney; aunt, Vicki (Poke) Lothammer; cousins: Ashli, Tammy, and Mikey; as well as many other family and friends who loved him dearly.

For more than 20 years, Donnie enjoyed working at Frisch’s where he met many friends who became like family. He loved his Harley’s and was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. Donnie truly found joy in making his friends and family laugh, but his biggest accomplishment and greatest joy is his daughter, Nevaeh.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 3:00pm to 4:00pm at Richards, Raff, and Dunbar Memorial Home, 838 East High Street, Springfield. A memorial service for Donnie will immediately follow at 4:00pm.
