Donald R. Hall Sr.

Donald R. Hall Sr. 92, of St. Paris passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026. He was born in Letcher County, Kentucky on December 6, 1933, to the late Morgan and Grace Hall. He was a member of Local 12, San Diego, Operating Engineers Union working for 25 years. Don was a car enthusiast. He was a member of the Champaign Cruisers and the Rowdy Rodders car clubs. Don enjoyed being around his family and friends. He was known for telling his life stories and sharing a laugh.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Sally Hall, siblings Ellis Hall, Dorothy Potter, and Acie Hall.

He is survived by his sons, Donald (Amy) R. Hall II & Gregory Hall; grandchildren, Donnie (Bethany) Hall, Benjamin (Anna) Hall, Sami Jo (Reid) Faylor & Adam Hall; great-grandchildren, Dominick, Dylan, Devin, Raegan, Charlotte, Arthur, Myra, Lydia, Harvey, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home, New Carlisle, on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm with the service to follow. Following the service, Don will be laid to rest with his beloved Sally at Oakdale Cemetery in Urbana. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Dayton.
