Donald E. Ferrell

Donald E. Ferrell, 84, of Springfield passed away Sunday, October 27, 2019 in Ohio Masonic Community. He was born June 15, 1935 in Springfield the son of Clarence and Caronia (Hunt) Ferrell. Don served four years in the United States Navy and retired from the Springfield Fire Department. He also worked as a plumber’s assistant with Jim Buffenbarger for many years and was a member of the Retired Firefighters Association. Don is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Joan A. (Dubie) Ferrell; two sons and daughters-in-law Steve and Jeanette Ferrell of Fischer, TX and Todd and Malinda Ferrell of Bartlett, TN; two step sons and daughters-in-law Michael and Elena Hines of Jacksonville, FL and Jeff and Brenda Hines of Springfield; a step brother Bill (Helen) Kennon of Englewood, FL; step sisters Betty (Ed) Baldwin of Enon, Marge Dunbar and Cathy Kennon of Springfield; eleven grandchildren Autumn (Ferrell) Sterling, Steven Ferrell, Sara Santiago, Josh Grubb, Tiffany Stamson, Christine (Hines) McNamee, Brandon, Bryce, Josh, Kevin and Sherry Hines. He is preceded in death by his father Clarence; mother and step father Rona and Howard Kennon; sister Betty Haemmerle Phillips; step brothers Gene and Neil Kennon; and step sister Pauline Sewak. There will be Celebration of Don’s Life Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 12 – 3 PM. at the Ohio Masonic Community, Community Center Rooms A & B.
