Diane Phillips Johnston passed away on July 25, 2026. She was born on February 6, 1951, in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. Diane dedicated her life to serving Jehovah. Baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on April 24, 1965, she was known from an early age for her love of the ministry. During her single years in Kentucky, she zealously shared in the preaching work alongside close friends, where she met her future husband, David Johnston. David and Diane were married on June 2, 1973. Together they served faithfully in various parts of Kentucky, helping many come to know Jehovah and find genuine joy in life. In 1976 they moved to Springfield, Ohio, where their son, Philip, was born. From that time on, Diane devoted herself to raising her family while keeping spiritual interests at the center of her life. She also put her accounting skills to good use whenever needed, including working for a local auto repair business. Throughout her life, Diane wholeheartedly supported many aspects of Kingdom service. Alongside David, she enthusiastically assisted with Kingdom Hall construction projects throughout Ohio. She also enjoyed helping with wardrobe and makeup at regional conventions and lovingly arranged flowers for the Memorial, weddings, and other special occasions. In 2011, Diane suffered the loss of her beloved husband, David. However, she carried on courageously and, by her thoughtful words and deeds continued to help many in the congregation endure trials. She was actively engaged in the ministry, a hallmark of her life course, always putting the Kingdom first. Diane is survived by her loving son, Philip, and her two cherished grandchildren, Sawyer (9) and Ellary (5), as well as extended family and many dear friends. Diane’s life was defined by steadfast faith, loving-kindness, and generous service to Jehovah and to others. She leaves behind a beautiful example of loyalty and compassion that will continue to inspire all who knew her. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
