Dempsey R. Mckinney

McKinney, Dempsey R., 100 of Springfield died February 27, 2020 in the Good Shepherd Village. He was born in Georgetown, IN on January 19, 1920, the son of Jesse and Eva McKinney. Dempsey served his country in the Army Air Corp during WW II. He retired as the office manager for Producers Livestock with over 30 years of service. He enjoyed bowling continuing until his was 96 and bowled a 300 game when he was 72. Dempsey also played golf until he was 92. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, reading and coaching Pony league Baseball. He was preceded in death by his wife Rachel; granddaughter Tracy Wiggins; sisters Wanda Cox and Gladys Clark; and brother Merrill McKinney. Survivors include his children Gary (Kathy) McKinney, Douglas (Angela) McKinney and Barbara McKinney; brothers Roy McKinney and Dale (Marge) McKinney; grandchildren Eric (Meagan) McKinney and Brenda (Eric) Elliott; grandson-in-law Charles Wiggins; great-grandchildren Brendan Elliott, Connor McKinney, Samantha Elliott, Charles RT Wiggins and Zachary Wiggins; great-great grandchildren Aiden and Lorelai Wiggins. Services to honor Dempsey will be Monday at 1:00PM in the Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial to follow in Enon Cemetery.
