Debbie Lynn Sovonick (Bell) passed from this earth peacefully, in her home, in New Carlisle, OH, on July 23rd, 2026, at the age of 70, just four days shy of her 71st birthday.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, McCoy Bell and Patricia Bell; her Aunt Viv and Uncle Art Doughman; her sisters Michelle Bell and Denise Bell; and her brother, Mark Bell.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Edward Joseph Sovonick; her beloved sister and best friend, Kathleen Bohman (Scott); her son, James Robert Ryan III (Mandy); her daughter, Jaclyn (Jackie) Ryan (Johnny); her five grandchildren, Ava Dawn Keebaugh, Bryce Bron Woodrow Black, Gabriel Aiden Black, Bodhisattva McCoy Hayden Ryan, and Hannah Lura Hayden Ryan; her dog, Ziggy; her loving nephews and niece, Adam McCoy Bell (Sarah), Alex Mark Bell (Lauren), Michael Vincent Bohman, and Seanna Nicole Bohman; and many grand nieces and nephews.
Debbie was many things throughout her life, a Stebbinette at Walter E. Stebbins High School, a Power Lifter, a Chef in her family’s restaurant in the Panhandle, a Legal Secretary, but she was always a creative, whether painting, drawing, collaging, making pottery, or decoupaging, she looked at the world through an artist’s eyes and interpreted it through her hands into beauty. She also loved to bake, be on her porch or in her garden with her flowers and plants, speak up for women’s rights, and to be with her family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ACLU.
