David Joseph Rife

David “Bub” Joseph Rife, age 63, passed away on October 9, 2025. He was born in Springfield on February 27, 1962, to Charles Rife and Elvira Caudil.

David is preceded in death by his mother, Elvira Caudil Donohoe; his best friend and wife of 40 years, Rhonda Rife; and brother, Paul Edward Rife. He is survived by his father, Charles Rife; stepfather, Roger Donohoe; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Tamara and Greg Ward; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

David worked for FMI as a painter for many years. He enjoyed restoring classic cars and spending time with his family and friends. David will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

A time of gathering will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 10:00am to 11:00am at Richards, Raff, and Dunbar Memorial Home, 838 East High Street. Funeral services to honor David’s life will immediately follow at 11:00am, officiated by Pastor Ken Majors. David will be laid to rest next to his wife at Ferncliff Cemetery.
