Darlena Mae Bowman

Darlena Mae (Ginter) Bowman, 73, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2026.

Born in Lima, Ohio on July 23, 1953, she was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph E. and Betty June Ginter. On July 25, 1969, she married the love of her life, Ray E. Bowman Sr., with whom she built a beautiful life and family. Darlena dedicated her life to her family, serving as a deeply loving, supportive, and devoted parent and grandparent. Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit created a home filled with love, and her greatest joy came from watching her family grow. Always ready to lend a helping hand, Darlena spent her retirement years quietly giving back to her community through various volunteer efforts and service projects.

Darlena leaves behind a lasting legacy of love and beautiful memories. She was the cherished mother of Ray E. (Barbara) Bowman Jr., Robert E. Bowman, and Ricky E. (Lacey) Bowman; the adoring grandmother of Ray E. Bowman III, Alexis R. (David) Scherer, Riley E. (Sondra Lemmons) Bowman, Clarissa A. (Connor) Wilson, Trinity J. (Aric Lannon) Bowman, and Carden J. Bowman; and the proud great-grandmother of Cora R. Wilson and Glen D. Scherer. Darlena is also survived by a large, loving family that includes her numerous siblings, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and many close friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray E. Bowman Sr.; her parents; and several of her cherished siblings.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at Richards, Raff, and Dunbar Memorial Home, 838 East High Street, Springfield, Ohio. A memorial service to honor Darlena’s life will follow immediately at 11:30 am.

The Bowman family would like to invite you to join them at Rose Hill Burial Park, 4781 S. Charleston Pike, Springfield, at 1:00pm for the inurnment of both Darlena and her late husband, Ray. No formal procession will take place.
