Clyde E. Fromm

Clyde E. Fromm, age 100, of Springfield, OH, died June 16, 2018. He was born in Dayton, OH on January 22, 1918, the son of John P. and Minnie (Hawke) Fromm. Clyde grew up in Waynesville, OH and lived there until 1948. He served three and a half years in the Army Air Corps during WWII (six months in Leghorn Italy). Clyde worked as a carpenter with his father to build several homes in Waynesville. In 1947 Clyde married Martha Snyder, now deceased, and they moved to Springfield, where Clyde worked as a carpenter for Robbins & Myers until he retired in 1981. He and Martha were married for 61 years and were longtime members of Oakland Presbyterian Church. Clyde volunteered for 19 years at Community Hospital after retiring from R & M. Clyde is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Kenneth & Debbie (Hoberty) Fromm of Centerville, OH; his daughter and son-in-law Karen & Terry Williams of Grove City, OH; four grandchildren Aaron (Kelli) Fromm of Beavercreek, OH, Ryan (Elizabeth) Fromm of Loveland, OH, Abby Williams (Jon Rust) of Bexley, OH, and Tara Williams of Columbus, OH; six great grandchildren Evi, Caden, Katie and Alex Fromm, Evan and Parker Rust; a brother-in-law Robert Snyder of Texas; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Martha, he is preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Fromm and his sister Katherine Banta. The service to honor Clyde’s life will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM. in RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME with Pastor Dwight McCormick officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Waynesville. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
