Clyde A. “Butch” Crowell, 84, of Medway passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025. He was born on December 17, 1940, in Dayton, the son of the late Clyde J. and Catherine Crowell. Butch retired from the Clark County Sherriff’s Department after 28 years of service and served as Volunteer Firefighter for 17 years with Bethel TWP Clark County, Station 1. He was a member of the Loyal order of Moose 2464, AMVETS Post# 148, VFW Post 9684, and Fraternal Order of Eagles-Enon #4069. In retirement Butch enjoyed golfing, especially with his son Nick. Butch is survived by his wife of 20 years Sharon; children Sarah Crowell, Cathy Crowell, and Nicholas (Debbie) Crowell; step-children Bob (Daysi) Mattingly and Tani Mattingly; sister Linda Sue (Les) Domingo; grandchildren Shannon (Steve) Heil, Pamela (Pablo) Gayton, Melissa (Qualbay) Khas, Rodney Crowell, TJ Harp, Heather Raveling, Richard Brecheen, and Nicole Day; great-grandchildren Pablo Jr., Iliana, Alana, Ethan, Amaya, Aleena, Camila, Colton, Grayson, Annabelle, Kali, and Bella. He is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Catherine R. Gillespie. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 5-7pm with honors at 7:00pm at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home.
