Charlotte J. Zirkle

Zirkle, Charlotte J. (Friend), 92 of Springfield passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019 in Vancrest of New Carlisle. She was born in Rosewood, Ohio on March 20, 1927, the daughter of Roscoe and Harlena Friend. Charlotte graduated from Rosewood High School and came to Springfield with her best friend Betty Mahan, where Charlotte went to work at the Crowell-Collier Company. She then went to the Springfield City Hospital in the patient accounts, and retired as secretary to the president of the Elliott Company. Charlotte attended the First Church of Christ and Terre Haute UMC. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Emil L. Zirkle; son Daniel L. Zirkle; brother Stanley Friend and sister Jane Friend; brothers-in-law Edward and Bernard Zirkle. Survivors include her daughter Cynthia E. Zirkle; daughter-in-law Nancy L. Zirkle; grandchildren Jeffrey L. (Lori) Zirkle and Scott W. (Samantha L. Rosetti) Zirkle; brother-in-law Raymond Zirkle; sister-in-law Gloria Friend; many nieces and nephews; very special friends and their families. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday, August 11, 2019 from 2-4PM in the Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home.
