Charles Edward Blanton

Charles Edward Blanton, 84, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 11, 2026. He was born September 4, 1942, the beloved son of Hubert & Mary Elizabeth Blanton. He is survived by his wife Beverly (Grimm) Blanton. They married on January 4th, 1964, and were blessed with two wonderful daughters Susan Dana (Scott) Clodfelter & Julie Lynn (Michael) Moran. In addition to his daughters, he has 6 grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Sean) Ford, Carly (Colton) Linkous, Colton Moran, Blake Moran, Kendall (Eli) Hadden, and Madison Moran; 4 great-grandchildren Theodore Ford, Cohen Linkous, Cooper Linkous, & Lorraine Danielle Ford. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his sister Phyllis Ann Wheeler and her husband Douglas Wheeler. Charles retired from GM as an electrician. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking making furniture & gifts for his friends. He was a faithful member of the Miami Valley United Baptist Church 58 years serving as deacon, clerk, & trustee for the church. He led a Christ focused life, which was a light for his family. His daughters and grandchildren all followed his lead to accept Christ into their lives, as well. He was always helping everyone (friends and family) with their electrical or general repair needs. He taught us to fear the lord, fearing God's judgment before we knew him and appreciating God's greatness after we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior. For that alone, he was the perfect father. He taught us to work hard and be proud of a job well done. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 12-1pm with the funeral to honor Charles beginning at 1:00pm at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home.
