Carolyn Sue Allen

Carolyn Sue (Leffel) Allen, age 84 of Springfield, Ohio, passed away on July 2, 2026. She was born in Enon, Ohio on February 21, 1942, to the late George and Clara Leffel.

Carolyn graduated from Northeastern High School, class of 1960, and obtained her bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University, class of 1964. She then went on to teach at Miami East Jr. High School for a year before dedicating the next 29 years of her career to Fairborn City Schools. After retiring in 1994, Carolyn spent many years working for The Ohio State extension office of Clark County and volunteering for the Master Gardeners of Clark County.

Carolyn also enjoyed sports, horseback riding, and gardening. As a teacher at Fairborn Park Hills, she spent time coaching volleyball, track and field, as well as assisting with cheerleading and gymnastics.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, L. Lonnie Allen; brothers: David (Bud) and Tommy Leffel; and sister, Pamela Leffel.

Carolyn is survived by her sisters: Sally Stewart and Jennifer (Guy) Cline; brother, Douglas Leffel; nephews: Michael, Mark, and David Leffel, Aaron Stewart, and Chad Leffel; nieces: Amy Haddock, Angela Snyder, Kristie Harris, Megan Leffel, Sarah Harr, and Katlin Bowers; numerous great nieces and nephews, stepdaughter, Mindy Marrone; as well as extended family, and dear friends, neighbors, and coworkers.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Richards, Raff, and Dunbar Memorial Home, 838 East High Street, Springfield. Funeral services will follow at 12:00pm. Carolyn will be laid to rest in Enon Cemetery.
