Beverly Loraine Buffington

Beverly Loraine (Safken) Buffington, 66, passed away on the 9th of February 2021 surrounded by her children in the home of her youngest daughter, Barbara, in Deatsville, Alabama. She began hospice care a week earlier while battling cancer. Beverly was born in Bassett, Nebraska Oct 16th 1954 to parents Vern Louis Safken and Lenore Bertine Cronk. She had six siblings and enjoyed cheerleading in her youth. At 19 she was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on July 4th 1974. She then met and married James (Jeb) Edwin Buffington on June 12th 1975 in the Provo, Utah Temple of the LDS church. After the death of her husband in 1990, Beverly continued to raise her eight children on her own in Medway, Ohio where she lived for more than 20 years. She went back to college at Miami-Jacobs then started a career working for Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio and Hill Air Force Base in Utah. She finally retired in 2018. Beverly was very proud that each of her sons served two-year missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She saw each of her children get married and celebrated the birth of twenty-seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. All of her children pursued higher education and began fulfilling careers and volunteer work in their communities. Beverly is survived by her children Alana Nicole Buffington, James Edwin Buffington Jr. (Rebecca), Mark Joseph Buffington (Stephanie), Matthew Crane Buffington (Mariel), Adam Michael Buffington (Sandy), Joshua Allen Buffington (Andrea), Jacob Kimball Buffington (Kristin), and Barbara Elisabeth Shearer (Joshua). In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted to a memorial fund to support funeral arrangements at;@MateoBuff ( Matthew Buffington) Venmo Account.
